Thirty years ago it was,
(could it really be that long?)
God led me to a family,
That gave my heart a song…
A song of joy and laughter,
Of memories so dear,
Of lifelong friends that are FAMILY…
A blessing very clear!
First there was my new found friend,
A red-haired twin of heart…
Then sleepovers, parties, enjoyable meals…
And Best Street – just blocks apart!
Raisins and peanuts,
Hanging out…
And all the great things
That life is about…
Lots of caring thoughts,
And hugs and smiles…
And wagging Shih Tzu tails…
All so worthwhile!
Aunt Janet and Dean and Debbie and YOU…
Are all special gifts
In my life – that’s true!
My heart still sings this special song….
For in it lies not one part wrong –
This song of happy times of past…
With more to come – our bond will last!
Your family and mine,
Became joined at the heart…
And our caring continues,
Even though we’re apart!
